Be A Math Magician!




WALT read and understand multiplication and division word problems.
I know this when I write out my workings to reach the correct answer.

David spent 74 cents at the school store.
He bought a notebook for 35 cents, a ruler for 18 cents, and 3 pencils.
What is the cost of one pencil?

1. 21 divided by 3=7

Kimberly had 37 cents.
She returned 9 cans to the recycling center.
Kimberly receives 5 cents for each can she recycles.
How much money did Kimberly have then?

2. 9x5=45, 45x2=90, 90-8=82

The Tasty Treat restaurant has 6 tables and 8 booths.
The tables can seat 4 people.
The booths can seat 6 people.
On Saturday afternoon, every seat if the restaurant was taken.
How many people were seated?
3. 6x6=36, 36x2=72

There are 7 desks in the science lab, 11 desks in the math room, and 12 desks in the art room. All three rooms mut have the same number of desks.
How many desks should be in each room?
4. 11-1=10, 12-2=10, 7+3=10
