Trev's Bucket List!

A teenager who lost his parents 2 years ago from a rare disease which was unknown. It was very contagious but very lucky for a boy named Trev he didn’t catch the disease. His family was very wealthy they had everything a person would want. But on June the 6th Trev felt horrific pain in his back and and was getting very dizzy. So Trev dialed 911 on his phone and right away the Ambulance came rushing into his house. Trev was so much in pain that he had to be carried by the medicals and placed onto a stretcher. He was rushed to the Hospital and hurried to the Emergency room. Trev couldn’t withstand the pain so he fell unconscious. A group of the best doctors and surgeons were working in Admor Hospital so Trev was in luck. After about 2 hours of unconsciousness Trev woke up.

He saw that he was alone in the E.R. by himself next to a big window with a spectacular view. The view of the whole city were sighted by Trev. Trev looked left and right and felt heart broken. There were cords and tubes on his body and a heart rate monitor. Trev thought he would never get out of the hospital again and he would die on his bed. Later on that day Trevs doctor walked into the room. “Sir sorry I have bad news for you” said the doctor.

“What is it” asked Trev in a scared voice.

“You have bone cancer stage 4” replied the doctor.

Trev was speechless he hid under his bed and cried and cried. Trev had no family to support him because all of his relatives were overseas.

The next day the doctor came in again. “Mr Trev I’ve checked your files and you have only 6 months to live”.

“Thank you doctor for telling me” said Trev.

And the doctor leaves the room.

“Doc can I go out of this hospital” asked Trev.

“Yes you may but you have to be safe and healthy” replied the doctor.

“Thanks doc I sure will” said Trev and smiled.

Then Trev so a small yellow paper and a pen on his table and he grabbed it. Trev wrote “My Bucket List”

Trev wrote all the things he wanted to do before his life on Earth ends. Slowly by slowly and each line he wrote another kind of thing he wanted. Skydiving, rock climbing, surfing, sky gliding, Shark diving and more.

After 2 days he jumped out of his bed packed his things and headed for the receptionist to tell them he will go out of the hospital. He exited the entrance door and firstly he looked at his paper.

“Skydiving”, since Trev was wealthy he went to the airport and bought a ticket to Rio which was in South Brazil. Trev got off the plane and saw this news paper “Skydiving for 900 dollars”. He headed straight for it, he paid then he geared up and went inside the plane. Up and up the plane went to 15,000 feet. He heard his instructor shout “3, 2, 1, go go go”! Trev jumped out and felt so amazed of what he had just done.

When his both of his feet touched the ground he was crying tears of joy. After that Trevs went on travelling around the world for almost 5 months. He bought a ticket from India back to America because he just climbed Mt. Everest. He entered back into the Hospital and lay on his comfy bed. All the words on the paper were crossed out except the last one. It said “Meet my parents”. Trev signed out of the hospital again and took a taxi cab to the city cemetery. When he saw the names of his parents he bent down on his knees and hugged both of his parents. After a while staying with his parents he went back to Admoor hospital.

It was October 6th, 5 months since he left the hospital for great adventures. His doctor went into his room and said “How was your time outside this place”.

“I had the time of my life” replied Trev.

“You will need to undergo surgery on your back and head, it is unlikely that you will survive”.

“Okay we’ll just try my luck”.

5 days after the surgeons got ready for the surgery and placed Trev into the theatre.

It was a 9 hour wait. Trev didn’t survive the surgery but at least he did everything he wanted before he died. On his bed was his bucket list with all his adventurous things he wanted to do.

My Dream Jump!

Waking up in a sunday morning hoping for presents and a cake. I got out of bed, took a shower and dressed up in fresh new clothes. While walking down the stairs, I was anxious what will be happening in the living room. When I turned my head to the right, nothing was there. Mum and Dad was just casually watching TV. I broke down to tears, thinking that they forgot my birthday. So I went into the kitchen and just ate a bowl of cereal.

Breakfast was finished for me, so I headed back to my room, covered myself with my blanket and pillows. Suddenly a voice from down stairs said “Franz come down son”. So I headed back down, hoping again for a present. Mum said to me “Come with us we’re going to the city for lunch”. So we headed to the city, and had lunch at an Italian Restaurant.

“Why are we here, Franz asked?”

“Nothing, just for casual”, Dad said.

Franz was now, really thinking that they forgot about his birthday.

When they got backed to their car, Mum and Dad got ready for his present.

Franz fell asleep, so that was a good chance for his parents to head for the skydive center. When they reached to the center they bought one 18,000 feet skydive ticket for Franz. Dad headed back to the car to grab Franz, but he was still sleeping. He woke up Franz and told him to keep his eyes closed.

Franz now thought, that it was surprise for him. Mum and Dad, together told Franz, open your eyes. Their Son opened his eyes, and was amazed and gratefully crying.

“We know you wanted this for your birthday, it was a surprise”, Mum said.

Franz ran to the chicken to get ready for a ton load of fun. Franz and his parents got ready and suited up for the 18,000 feet jump. When Franz was boarding on the plane his fear level got higher and higher. Then the engine of the plane roared, it was lift off. His parents were dead scared because they were so high up. It was ready and good to jump. 3… 2… 1… Woosh!

Franz raced down to the ground like an eagle soaring from the skies. His parents were more scared than he was, his parents jumped together at the same time. Woosh, woosh they were speeding not of the road but in mid air. Franz was having the time of his life, this was his Dream Jump.

He Was Not Alone!

It was was Friday 8pm at night and Daniel had his weekly movie watching. Daniel had watched so many of the latest movies except one… Satan’s Whisper. He plugged his laptop into his TV and got ready. It was pretty scary for Daniel because it was dark, quiet and he was home alone in the lounge. Before he could start the movie, he switched off the light, got his blanket and got a packet of chips beside him. “Play”, Daniel played the movie, horror and thriller pumped through his veins. During the movie Daniel had some chips, “Crunch”, the loud crunch and the quiet surroundings did not blend. Lying down, while watching a scary movie was Daniel’s weakness.

“Zzzz”, He fell asleep, while the movie continued.

Now, Daniel was in his dream, hoping for ice-cream and candy, but that did not happen. Daniel was in his dream, lying on his bed and snoring very loudly. Suddenly, Daniel woke up to a knock on his bedroom door. Frightened and terrified he didn’t know what to do. Quietly, Daniel sat up and walked to switch the light on. He opened the door but no one was there. His Mum and Dad were still in their room sleeping. Daniel in his mind thinking “What or who could have knocked on my door?”. Tip-toeing back to his bed, he heard another sound, this time it was coming from within the walls. A soft banging sound was coming from inside the walls. Daniel rushed to his bed, and hid under his blanket.

Thinking of the sounds, scared daniel more. He couldn’t go back to sleep so he just closed his eyes, hoping another dream of pop up. But no, he was still on the same dream. All you could hear was Daniel’s deep breathing. All of a sudden a voice next to him whispered “I know who you are, I know your family, so get ready, be prepared of what is going to happen next”. Daniel sat up in terror, his heart was pumping rapidly, and his breathing was deep and loud. He ran to the light switch but the light wouldn't switch on, he tried to open his door, but it would not open. Daniel was panicking, he was locked in his room, with no light.

All he could do now is wait till he would wake up. Daniel rolled up into a ball and positioned himself in the corner of his room. When daniel looked in front of him, a large shadow was there.

It was coming closer and closer, Daniel shut his eyes, trying to wake up. The shadow was now right in next to him… Boom, a bright light shone up his room and Daniel woke up. Daniel was now, back on the the lounge wide awake. Daniel thought that his dream was still going, he was wrong it was already finished. Daniel thought to himself “Was that whisper real”. Daniel shrugged his shoulder and went back to sleep, not knowing what dream will appear next.

Rails Of Rush!

Two twins named Tracy and Amy had scarce money and they needed to have their annual christmas dinner at their parents place. Tracy was a boy and Amy was a girl.

On Day one they packed their luggage . Tracy and Amy packed their clothes, and belongings  and headed for the train station. While power walking to the station Tracy nervously looks at his watch. The twins needed to get to the station by 12:00pm. Both of them anxious about the time and started to get scared because time seemed to be racing by.

“We have to be at the station before twelve Amy” said Tracy.

“Well hurry then, because there's no more trains going to Mum and Dad place until after Christmas” Amy said worriedly.

Broom, Broom! Hear the speedy foots steps that Tracy and Amy were making. 11:58pm two minutes before the train leaves for Braskin.

Tracy rushed to the counter to buy a ticket but…. Tracy heard his worst nightmare.

“All Aboard!” Tracy grabbed Amy by the arm and pulled her to the train boarding platform.

“Nooooo” screamed Amy in a terrified voice.

“Amy stay here for a moment” said Tracy.

“Where you going” asked Amy.

And tracy walk away to the counter. “Is there a refund possible” asked Tracy to the Counter man.

“Sorry no refunds here” replied the Counter man.

Tracy came back to Amy and replied with sad news. “Amy no refund” cried Tracy.

Amy was speechless and both of them sat at the corner of the building and cried. They were so depressed and tired that they never knew they fell asleep. It was 5:00am in the morning and they were still in their beauty sleep. “Hey wake up” shouted the Counter man.

Tracy opened his eyes and said “Oh sorry”.

“I am humbly asking you to leave this place” replied the man.

So Tracy slowly woke up Amy and packed up their bags and left the station. No one had a mobile phone so that they can ring their parents. No money left even a single penny.

Tracy and Amy tried to find shelter but no luck. They searched for hours, walking miles but not a single person offered to them to have a stay at their house. Tracy and Amy had no choice but to walk all the way to Braskin. It was a ten day walk from where they were to Mum's and Dad's place.  Amy moaned and groaned because she was too tired to take another step. They needed rest so they took a quick rest next to a large oak tree that shaded them from the blazing sun.

Taking a rest for a long time gave them a headache so they went on their way to their parents house. Walking for almost a mile they so a sign ahead of them it said “Braskin 500 meters”.

They were in a heart warming relief finally, after a mile of walking they have reached the point that they raced to their parents house. When they got their, they were so filthy and smelly, they had a surrounding odor, it was pungent. “Knock, knock”, when their parents opened the door, Tracy and Amy hugged them both. Their mum asked “What is that disgusting smell?”... Tracy and Amy were silent and headed straight for the showers. After showering they were fresh and smelling good, it was time to eat. After Tracy and Amy’s hard work and perseverance they reached, to their parents house to have their annual Christmas Dinner… Tracy munched up the food!

Invisible Forces That You Can't See!

The 99th Room

“Charlie do you want to come with me to an abandoned hotel?”,Clark asked

“Come on let's hurry before midnight strikes”, said Charlie.

Off they went together to an Abandoned Hotel. They got to a place where street lights were so damaged, and dim that it beam of light they projected not longer lit up their path. No one had a flashlight or a phone, so they just had to walk through the creepy, dark streets without a single hint of light. A few minutes later, they arrived at the hotel.

“I’m not going in there without a torch”, said Charlie nervously.

“Oh yes you are”, replied Clark.

“Let's get a move one before it gets dark” replied Charlie.

They both were in terror of how the hotel looked. It had shattered windows, crippled wall paint, and… fresh blood! That’s when the goosebumps began to creep over them. As they entered the hotel, they heard banging from the 4th floor. Creech, crack, was the sound of the old wooden floor with every step they took.

“Ahhh, there's more blood on the floor” said Charlie, as he looked on the floor.

Clark quickly placed his hand onto his mouth to stop himself from screaming. Clark was terrified but he knew, he had to see why there was fresh blood everywhere. Then they heard the bang sound again.  Up the stairs they went, bang! bang! they heard it again. Clark and Charlie could both hear their hearts pumping in adrenaline. Closer and closer, the banging sound got louder. Standing on the the third floor, they knew the banging sound was just above them.

Clark was first to go up the stairs to the 4th floor. At the precise moment that they reached the  4th floor, they saw ahead of them, a long narrow hallway full of rooms. Lucky for them a light was blinking at the end of the hallway. Something inside them made them want to go and check it out. Slowly, step by step they felt walked staring at the doors and counting them as they passed them by.  How many doors where there -  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and went on. 95, 96, 97, 98, The banging came back.  It was so loud that they just wanted to leave.

Clark said “It’s coming from that door, the 99th room.

Charlie said “Let's open it!” But before they could even lay their hands on the door knob, the blinking lights suddenly stopped  and the whole place was pitch black!

“Clark where are you?”, asked Charlie in a panicky voice. No one answered, it was dead silence. Someone grabbed Charlie.

The two boys never came home, police  patrols search night and day trying to find the 2 boys but they were never seen again and that is the story of  the mysterious Abandoned Hotel.

Live The Good Life...On A Toilet?

My Phone!!!

If your phone has fallen or has been in contact with water and it’s not working, well you're in luck just follow these steps and your phone will be good as new. (Only Works With A Removable Back Cover)

Steps:

1. Take the back cover of your phone off and dry the cover off.
2. Safely remove the battery, SD card, and sim out of the phone and dry it with a microfiber cloth.
3. Put any kind of rice and place rice into a large bowl.
4. Place the battery, SD and sim card in the centro of the bowl surrounded with rice.
5. Get a blow dryer and blow inside the phone. (Blow it not more than 1 minute or wires will burn).
6. Use a microfiber cloth and wipe any moisture on the phone.
7. If you have a dehumidifier turn it on and place the phone next to it. (This will suck up all the moisture under the screen and inside the phone).
8. Place the phone in a separate bowl with rice.
9. Leave the phone, SD, battery and sim card over night.
10. Check the phone the next day and check if all the moisture is out.
11. Try the battery on the phone. (If doesn’t work, follow next step).
12. Use the tip of the vacuum and vacuum inside the phone for 30 seconds.
13. Wait another 24 hours and check if your phone still works.
14. Remove the battery, sim and SD card out of the bowl of rice and wipe it down with a paper towel.
15. Check if everything is dry.
16. Wide down everything one last time to make sure there is no sign of water anywhere.
17. Insert SD and sim card first, then insert battery.
18. If the phone turns on and screen is still working, you are very lucky. (If your phone still doesn’t work I would recommend buying a new phone and make sure it’s weather resistance) (Getting a phone repaired is a fortune so I probably recommend getting a new phone)

Leadership Is The Key!

Basketball a sport that needs team work, communication, and leadership. In Basketball rules (book), there are two girls who have a huge passion with basketball. They are trying their best to improve their skills. Setting high goals, and achieving it, will encourage and inspire others. 6 days a week is about swimming. Needing confidence, determination and commitment to this sport. A girl who wanted to be an Olympian in the future, she tried her hardest to be the best she can. She never gives up, and if she fails she starts again. Having perseverance is really important to sports. All 3 girls, have great determination, respect, confidence, leadership, perseverance. This is what makes a great solo/team player.

Super Maths!

This bar graphs shows my end results for my basic maths test. Starting from week 5, I improved my results from 99-98-100. The last 2 weeks I got 100 for my results.

Bugs, Worms, Compost And More!

Not long again our school was provided with an opportunity to visit Auckland's Botanical Garden. This gave us a chance to support our known knowledge and increase our facts about gardening. We had an opportunity to walk and look around to inspect plants more closely. We were given a paper task to make us explore other plants around the area. Once we finished adventuring/learning ourselves around the gardens, we were escorted to a education building with a Botanical instructor.

Room 8’s topic was about, how to keep our garden safe from pests. We had to complete tasks about our topic. Then we created an organic potion, to defend our garden against bugs. Next we got taught how to attract helpful creatures into our garden to help and protect our plants. During and after the teaching we gained our knowledge about protecting our garden. We can now use our knowledge and skills to be treated. This increases the benefit and protection in our garden.

"Sugar" That Is What You Are!

Caramelised Sugar!

Ingridients:

• 3 types of sugar
• 3 square tinfoil
• Matches
• Cloth
• Spoon
• Saucepan

Procedure:

1. Turn on the stove, to low heat
2. Slowly pour in sugar into the saucepan.
3. Using a spoon mix the sugar, try not to burn it.
4. When all liquid, pour liquid into tinfoil.
5. Wait for sugar to cool until solid.
6. Peel off foil, and eat.
7. If bitter taste burn, if sweet, smooth taste then it’s cooked to perfection.

8 Legged Beasts!

I am learning to identify key ideas and use them to write an information report.

Spiders are part of the Arachnid family. They come in different shapes and sizes but all in common, they all have 8 legs.

Not all spiders have a venomous bite. By injecting fangs into their victim, and releasing venom that's how they release their toxin to kill or warn prey. The Brazilian Wandering Spider is the most deadliest of all the Arachnids. Their bite can cause severe pain, which is enough to kill a full grown elephant. Spiders never attack unless threatened. Standing and showing their fangs, is a way of defense.

The biggest spider is the Goliath Birdeater. They eat not just birds but larger animals their size. Some female spiders can lay over 4000 eggs during birth. The special feature on a spider is that, they have hairs on their body, which can sense any movement.

There are over 40,000 species of spiders. Spiders can be located in every continent except Antarctica. They all have a vital part in the eco-systm.

What Happens In Your Kitchen Sink?

Goal: By the end of this procedure your experiment should have exploding colours in the container.

Requirements:

• 200mls of dark blue top milk
• Eye dropper
• Rectangle clear container
• Detergent
• Food colouring (4 of any colour)

Steps:

1. Pour 200mls of milk into the clear container.
2. Slowly add 5 drops of 4 different colours in each corner.
3. Carefully put at least 3 drops of detergent using an eyedropper in the centre of the container.
4. Watch and observe properly what is happening.

Grow Your Own Plant Now Under 3 Minutes!

Spinach Plant

Things you will need:

• ¾ soil
• Small container
• Tea bag
• Water
• Plant/seed

Procedure:

1. Wash the small container properly.
2. Add tea bag at the bottom of the container.
3. Get soil and fill container until ¾ full.
4. Make a small dent in the soil for the plant/seed to fit in.
5. Take out dirt if there is too much inside the container.
6. Pour a little bit of water.
7. Place container out in the sun with a little bit of shade.
