Here's How To Survive Being Stranded On An Island!

If stranded on an island here are the steps of what to do to survive.
These are all the steps you will need to survive, including steps of how to make fire and drinkable water.

  1. Stay calm and think.
  2. Find a source of drinkable water.
  3. Build a shelter using wood, leaves, and sticks.
  4. Create a fire for warmth.
  5. Collect big stones and place them in the right order to show SOS. (Save Our Souls)
  6. Find a edible food. (Fish, Bugs)
  7. Create  tools  and weapons to capture fish or animals.
  8. If not saved after 2 weeks, build a strong durable raft to leave the island.

Water Still
  1. Dig a hole in the sand up near the edge of the trees. Deep enough to see damped sand.
  2. Place a container in the center of the hole.
  3. Fill the gaps surrounding the container with anything wet.
  4. Place your plastic sheet over the hole and anchor the sheet in place with larger rocks around the edges.
  5. Place one small rock in the center of the plastic.
  6. Condensation will occur on the underside of the plastic and run to the center, and drip into the container which is drinkable water.

Fire Starter

  1. Find a softwood and cut a groove in its base.
  2. Place some tinder at one end that you will ignite.
  3. Using a hard stick, plow the end up and down this groove to create friction.
  4. The tinder will begins to smolder, blow on it to help fuel the fire catching process.
  5. When the fire catches, place other small twigs on top to help it grow.

Triangles & 180 Degrees

Image result for triangles
This morning in Maths we investigated the angles of triangles.
1) Firstly I drew an equilateral triangle.
2) I tore off each point of the triangle leaving three equal parts.
3) I connected them like puzzle pieces and that formed a line.
4) This time we drew and cut a isosceles triangle.
5) Tearing off the angles again, I repeated the process and found that they too formed a line.
6) 180 degree is also known as a straight line.
The angles of a triangle add up to 180 degrees.

Degrees Of Triangles

Today I have been practising my numeracy skills in subtraction and addition as I have solved problems involving finding the unknown value of pronumerals with the angles in triangles

Reading Is Simply Life!

This is my speech that I presented to my class about, why reading is important?

Why is Reading Important! Well here is everything you need to know why reading is important. Reading, there are different kinds of opportunities when you know how to read, jobs, education and sports. These can all lead to future jobs that are good and that will make your brain smarter. Just like country leaders they need to read a contract to be officially, president, mayor and prime minister. How could they have accomplished these things without reading?

There are so many possibilities of the benefits of reading. Reading improves everything maths, spelling, writing and all the subjects that you will learn.

Before starting school you need to know the alphabets, numbers up to 20 and your name, you can’t do all this things until you can read. And when you start getting older and now a senior you will need to do tests and need to talk to each other to help you understand. Reading helps you find correct answers to lead to future education. Without learning to read there will not be education. When you reach university that’s when exams start getting harder, and you will need to read the questions properly.

You may not seem like to read a lot, but think again, reading helps to improve your English and with reading you can learn languages and different kinds of cultures. Reading can also entertain you, when you are bored and help you understand books and stories that you are reading. Once you get the habit of reading your brain memory will improve and you will get 100% absolutely brilliant.

Reading can also affect your everyday life! For eg: the roads, you should always be safe on the roads. You will need to check the lanes, cars, road signs, and stop lights, without reading these important objects on the road you might crash or get into a serious accident with other drivers on the road and might lead to life threatening injuries or even death. Again jobs, if you don’t know how to read the time then you will be late for your work, and even get fired. And if you get fired how are you going to get a job in time because you will need to provide for your family.

You don't learn to read, you read to learn! And one more thing is that if you don’t read you will be illiterate. That means you won’t be able to learn to read and write. Without reading you will not learn, maths, spelling, writing, science and technology. So that means reading is extremely, intensely important. To my conclusion reading is simply life!

Try To Be Like This Man!

BEST ADVERTISEMENT EVER

This ad was awarded for the best advertisement for 2014.
The author has presented to me emotionally about giving to people who have nothing. He/She has started the ad with a caring choice of a man that placed a dead plant onto some pouring water. The author has used a mother and a daughter living in the streets, and a man comes up to donate money to the girl. This catches the audience's attention because people will think the man is so compassionate and generous. At the end everyone changed. All the people who the man helped is now happy.

The author has cleverly repeated the same actions the man did to see the change of the people who he helped. The writer has written that the dog is an abandoned dog and the man came to help the dog to eat. At the end the dog was a loyal pet to the man. The author has made the man help all the people who needs help. This gets the audience attention that there are people who have a lot and should give to the poor.

Make Sure They Make Sense!

L.I. We are learning how to place sentences in order in the correct place.
